Teaching

Veterinary virology

Fundamental virology is taught to undergraduate students with emphasis on molecular virology and taking examples from relevant animal viruses of veterinary interest.

Veterinary clinical virology

A practice oriented approach of viral diseases. From the learning of pathogenesis, the course gives the keys of understanding how viruses can cause diseases. The main viral diseases of domestic animals in Europe are studied in depth. Control, diagnosis and vaccination are also studied in the optional part of the course.

Presentation of scientific results

Good communication cannot be underestimated in science. Graduate students are taught about the structure of scientific articles, written and oral presentation and powerpoint assisted communication.

Molecular virology

The molecular aspects of relevant viral families, as well as the cell-virus interactions, are taught in details. The graduate student is actively involved in this course.

Continuing education programmes

Updating the knowledge of the veterinary practitioners is of upmost importance. Continuing education programmes are prepared on current subjects as emerging viral diseases in companion and production animals, vaccination and control programmes and lectures on viral notifiable diseases.
